Michigan FIRE is a new statewide 501(c)(3) initiative ensuring that young people, especially BIPOC, rural, immigrant, and working-class youth historically excluded from power, are at the center of shaping Michigan’s civic future.
In 2026, Michigan faces some of the most consequential elections in the nation: an open Governor’s race, an open Senate race, and four critical US House races. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and young people will be the difference.
Our mission is not just to mobilize youth for one election cycle, but to build the infrastructure for long-term power. MI FIRE blends immediate electoral strategies with deep organizing, community leadership pipelines, and community-based hubs that anchor year-round youth power in communities across Michigan.
